A Mother's Love
I didn't have to look into your eyes
to fall in love with you.
I didn't have to hear you cry
to know you loved me too.
I didn't need to hold your hand
to cherish you for always.
Within my womb, we shared our hearts,
you touched my soul.
You sweetened my spirit.
You gave me memories I will always hold clear.
Yes, my heart aches since you departed too soon.
But a mother's love does not end with death.
For you are my child,
Forever my love is yours...

That was a beautiful poem Courtney.
ReplyDeleteI know that I haven't commented lately, not because I haven't wanted to, I just haven't had the words. I still don't, but I think of you often throughout my days and my heart hurts for the emptiness of your arms. You are truly an amazing, Godly women and I thank you for sharing Ella Joy with us. For such a brief life, she has touched many hearts. I will continue to pray as you and Jacob and the kids grieve for Ella.
All my love,
Jessica
Courtney, I am happy that you are checking in at blog land. I know how it feels to feel completely out of it in the days following your sweet baby leaving you. It feels so surreal. But what an amazing love that you got to experience...and you'll always have that. Thanks for writing out the birth experience. Sounds super long...mine was too. Just more time with Ella though. Thinking of you today!!
